Serenity shook her head stubborly. "Zane you know as well as me and my brother that there is no way possible to stop me. And I believe if you try to stop me, it will just make me want to escape more and more to fix you! I can't have you getting hurt because of a foolish mistake I made!"

Zane sighed, running his fingers through his hair. "It doesn't matter anybody...the only way you can get into his own little Fire Palace thingy place is to have his permission and a key to it...it's the same thing with the Ice Palace...you need a key unless you work there or are the Ice Warden's apprentice..."

Serenity shook her head. "Zane, I won't allow you to hurt yourself! And it IS my problem now, especially if it concerns you! I won't leave your side ever again if it leaves me capable of fulfilling my promise and keeping you safe," she whispered.

Zane's eyes narrowed at Serenity. "Why do you have to make everything more difficult fo me?!" he asked, glaring at her. "First it was the fact that you loved me and I love you AND Maere, then you go after Gwen when I ask you not to, now you're trying to get yourself killed! Are you TRYING to make EVERYTHING difficult!?"

Serenity began crying. "Fine! Have your way . . . I don't matter anyways! You'd probably be better off with Maere anyways, I shouldn't have even existed in the first place!" Serenity took off, not looking where she was going, crying.

Serenity kept running, not stopping. She was more mad at herself. She wanted to help Zane so badly, yet he wouldn't let her in to help. She wasn't happy with herself. Maybe she would hurt herself for what she had done to Zane. She turned a corner and kept running, every so often she would turn. "Maybe I should myself as well," she whispered to herself. "To remind myself of what I've done." She nodded to herself lightly, stopping. She held up her hand, forming a ball of darkness. . . .

Zane just stood there, wondering just what he had done to deserve this life...maybe he should have stayed with his parents and let them kill him...and they would have sooner or later. Maere would understand, right?

Serenity shook as she brought the orb of darkness to her left eye, forcing it against it to blind herself. She would be equal now, right? Her left eye faded from a bright green to black. She shook slightly, looking around. 'Where in the world was she?'

Zane turned to look at Aisu coolly. "Tell Serenity I love her...and that it's me who isn't good enough for her..." he said, twirling on one foot and vanished. "I truly do love her...but I don't deserve to live..."

Serenity gasped as she heard Zane's voice as she was trying to find her way back. "Zane," she whimpered. "What the hell is he thinking?" She pulled out her phone, and dialed his number quickly.

Zane merely glanced at his cell, shaking his head as he didn't bother to answer it, just staring at his home, breaths coming out in cold bursts of air.
