Keeping close to each other, the cousins set off towards the courtyard below them. Brooke was a bit intimidated by the mass of people she didn't really know, but Riley wasn't, he was used to it-he had gone to a bigger school than Brooke had when they lived in Wales, but, to be fair, it had been all boys. They took over an empty bench nearby and continued to survey the land, Brooke more intently than Riley, who really just wanted to fall back asleep, travel tired him.
As they sat, Brooke watched those around her. It was a weird hobby of hers, but Brooke was fascinated with analyzing the actions and personalities of others. Her father had called her an early anthropologist, but she wasn't sure that that defined her, her study on people was generally just a topic of her photography and other art, the previous just a bizarre way to pass the time.
Riley, much less attentive than his cousin, grabbed a worn book out of his backpack and began to read, leisurely. According to his schedule, he had a free period first, easy. Brooke, on the other hand, had an art class, easy, yet something she had to actually move to attend. As for Riley, he could probably have sat on that bench all day, reading his books.
After a few moments of silence, Brooke turned to her cousin, "Seems like an eventful day so far, eh?" she asked, and checked her watch, they hadn't anything schedule that day, it was going to be a long one... Riley nodded to Brooke, "So much social action," he agreed sarcastically. The two sighed, they were devastatingly shy around others

Zane was trying to find a way to get away from this girl, without being mean to her. He just couldn't be mean! It was against his nature...he was impossibly nice!

Brooke made a face at the people who had rushed past them, stepping on her toes. Rolling her eyes, she elbowed Riley in the side, "Those twits just practically clobbered us!" she rolled her eyes, frowning. Riley patted her head, "Don't worry, love, it was probably an accident," he said, looking after them, bewildered.

Serenity and Shoi walked up to the pair. "That was Zane and Koneko. Zane is being kidnapped, and Koneko is just a brat," she hissed. "My name is Serenity, and this is Shoi," she gestured to her friend.

Brooke looked at them carefully, "Hi...I'm Brooke, and that," Brooke shoved Riley again, he had resumed reading some sort of thick novel, "is my cousin Riley. Nice to meet you guys," she said, grinning.

Serenity grinned. "Hello," she said, a grin forming on her lips.
Shoi's gaze flicked to Riley. "Excuse me, what are you reading?" she queried. She had always loved to read, but Serenity never allowed her to read around her.

Brooke nodded, still grinning, it was incredible for them to make even slight conversation.
"Err," Riley grunted, looking up from the pages of his book, "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest," he replied, closing the book and shoving it into his messenger bag. "Hi," he said to Serenity, smiling back.

Brooke cocked her head to the side, "I don't really know yet, its not horrid, I guess. But we're a bit...annexed from everyone, we don't really have any friends, so its not been too exciting," she admitted, a bit embarassed. But, she figured lying about it would only make things weird.
Riley shrugged, "Oh, loads! I have Everything is Illuminated, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, some collections of series's. And its all stored lightweight too," he snickered, "I had Brooke save a sketchbook just for our library, so every time we want a book, she just draws it, or sketches a bookshelves and voila, we have a selection!" he chuckled.
Brooke rolled her eyes, "I'm able to put life into any art that I create. It's wonderfully fun," she smiled.
Then, she pulled a sketch book out of her shoulder bag and opened to a page of a grey cat, and tapped him, whispering, and magically, the cat crept off the page and into her lap. "This is Masterfade," she said, "I keep him in my sketch book when he can't be about," she explained, bringing him close to her.

Brooke beamed, petting Masterfade as he settled, purring, into the space between her and Riley, "Thanks! You guys wanna sit down?" she asked, pointing to the empty space beside her.
Riley nodded, "Of course, what'd'ya wanna read?" he asked, smiling.

Riley chuckled, "You can't read all books at once, Shoi! Chose one to start with and Bee will get it for ya," he said, throwing his thumb in her direction.

Serenity grinned broadly. "Let's sit at that table," she exclaimed. Her face brightening.
Shoi shrugged. There were so many series she wanted to read. "Twilight," she responded at last. Everyone had told her it was SO good, but she was so afraid to read it because of Serenity's reactions to books.

Brooke nodded, "Alright, Riles, move yer arse we're movin to the table," she said, picking up Masterfade.
Riley rolled his eyes a bit, "Alright," he said to Brooke. "Twilight..." he snickered, "Brooke, draw that girl the four Twilight books?"
Brooke laughed a bit, "Okie doke," she said, grabbing her sketchbook, "My library one is in my room, but this'll work," she said. Briefly, she put Masterfade back on the paper, tapping him, which made him melt away onto the page, and then she turned to a fresh sheet. In a flourish, she drew a box set, labeling all four books and then tapping them out, "Comin up," she said. Slowly, the rose out of the page as if from an elevator, and she checked one of them to make sure the text was inside, "Here," she said, motioning towards the collection now on the table.
