Under Anju's suggestion, the Maaka family make him an ally, telling him that if he kept their secret and looked after Karin, they wouldn't erase his memory. In the end, Kenta falls in love with Karin and saves her from her own berserk rage, brought on by blood surplus. He has even offered his own neck to her anytime she feels the need.
